Only 7 days.
It's almost over. The whole country--the whole world--- is so over him. No one even wants to bash Bush. They just want to banish him.
Our nation can't wait to welcome the president with the potential to change everything. Our image. Our integrity. Our imaginations. Not to mention our history.
One week from today Barack Obama will stand on the steps of the Capitol in Washington and take the oath of office. I never thought this day would come in my lifetime. I never thought I'd be here to witness it.
But I will witness it. Thanks to a completely unexpected call from my nephew Aaron, who works on Capitol Hill.
He said he could get a couple of tickets at the last-minute --and asked me if both Daniel and I could arrange to get to Washington to attend the inauguration.
I'm pretty sure there couldn't be much doubt about my answer: "Yes! We can!"
Your are a lucky thing! But I hope both you guys have strong bladders.

I'm completely jealous!

I really am lucky. Although I appreciate how lucky I am, the more I learn about the situation that will exist at the inauguration, I think the bladder issue is starting to outweigh the luck.

Talk about coincidence: I just learned that a coworker has an opportunity to attend the inauguration. She has a nephew Aaron who works in D.C. who has two tickets and invited his aunt to join him.
They must be handing out spare tickets alphabetically!

Wow--that is really amazing. Also seems like guys named Aaron are really nice to their aunts!
